Susan Shook
Susan Shook is a native Hoosier, having moved to the Greater Cincinnati area about 25 years ago. She grew up in a large, loving family, where music abounded at all times and provided a solid foundation for picking up new instruments and genres – like bluegrass!
She picked up the mandolin – and now banjo! — late(r) in life, but is giving it her all to catch up to the pros. Her personal mottos are: (1) Give your best in any endeavor. (2) Treat others with kindness and empathy. As a favorite saying goes, “We’re all just walking each other home. Empathy is about standing in someone else’s shoes, feeling with his or her heart, seeing with his or her eyes.”
And finally, something Susan says she strives to live by, coming from the wise leader and man of letters, Winston Churchill: “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.” That can be any aspect of time, talent, or treasure – go change the world!
By day, Susan works diligently as a corporate attorney and tries to get others excited about reading, running, and music – especially bluegrass!
